Christmas!!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! I managed to get everything accomplished-it always seems to work-out! We spent Christmas Eve at Katie and Brian's. We fed the kids early and then put them to bed. After they were in bed, we were able to enjoy an "adult only" dinner and it was wonderful without any distractions! We had our traditional Italian dinner with spaghetti and meatballs and it tasted so yummy! We were planning on playing games too, but Miss Lindsey had other plans for us, so we decided to pack her up and head home.

On Christmas Day, the whole family was over for breakfast and presents. We had a nice morning that last for quite awhile. We were in no hurry and enjoying this, because we all know that this is not how it is going to be for too many more years. Later, we had the traditional Christmas dinner with ham and funeral potatoes. It was so nice to be able to spend Christmas together as a family this year! We did miss having David and Natalie here with us! Hopefully, in 2 more years they can join!

Lindsey getting a "horsey ride" from PaPa on Christmas Eve

My parent's gave Lindsey a rocking chair and she loves to sit in it and read her books or rock her babies to sleep....

"The Horse" Lindsey and Alli loved this horse. They fought over it just a few times!

Cute Nick....notice the cars in his hands, he never let go of them, even to open presents!

Here is the princess on her horse. She managed to get up on her horse all by herself even with a book in her hands today! It was pretty amazing and then she was managing to rock and read at the same time with no hands. That is talent!

Too Cute!!

While I was getting food ready for Christmas Eve dinner, Russ decided to take Lindsey outside to play in the snow. The first time I tried to put the whole snowsuit on Lindsey screamed bloody murder and then refused to wear even the jacket after that for a very long time. I guess she doesn't mind the whole outfit now! Russ and I couldn't laugh enough, it was too cute!!

Someday I will have some time...

....to sit down and blog and post some pictures that I haven't even taken yet! I am really wishing I could have enjoyed this Christmas season a little more, but I seriously have been crazy busy!! Lindsey has this adorable sweater dress that is red and I just realized that I haven't taken any pictures of her in it. I am on #5 of 6 days working right now and am actually having a "slow" point, so that is why I have time to do a quick post. I will be working tomorrow-these patients just are not leaving the hospital like I would like them to. I was really hoping for another day to try and get everything set prior to Christmas, but it looks like Christmas Eve will just have to be the one and only day to get EVERYTHING done!! I really just want to enjoy one Holiday this year, since I ended up working on Thanksgiving!! Don't worry, I am just feeling sorry for my crazy life! Someday I will have some time, right???

Big Sister!!

That is right....Lindsey is going to be a BIG SISTER!! And we are of course so excited to bring a new addition to our family. Lindsey is in dyer need of a sibling or else things will probably get uglier than they already are. My due date is May 26th, which makes me 13 weeks! Everything is looking great so far. We are very excited to have either a boy or a girl...the Henneuse Family is hoping for a boy to give Nick a boy cousin, instead of all of these girls!! (Katie is having a girl...so far 3:1).

P.S. GRRRR!!! I am a little mad right now, because I had GREAT hopes of adding my latest ultrasound to this post, but my scanner is having issues....so there is no picture and so much for waiting until this ultrasound to post about this fabulous news!!

One more picture...

My friend, Valerie, sent me this picture of Lindsey from our Halloween Trunk or Treat. I wasn't able to go, because I was working, but Russ managed to get Lindsey there. They had fun!

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween-not quite what we were planning since Nick got sick the night before, but we still managed to have some fun. Russ's parent's came into town and so we had a fun filled weekend with them. As many of you know, we got a HUGE snowstorm a few days earlier, but by Halloween, a majority of it was melted and we were out enjoying the warm sun and the cold snow!!! The night of Halloween, we ordered pizza and then took Lindsey out trick-or-treating with the twins. Lindsey and Alli were both Dalmatians. It was cute to see them go house to house together. We went to about 10 houses and then when we got back to our house, Lindsey stopped and kept saying "no, no..." She was not ready to go back, she knew where the fun was. Brian was taking a ton of pictures, so I put my camera down, hence the ONE picture I got of Lindsey in her costume. She loves her "doggy" costume sooo much!!

Earlier in the day, we went outside and played in the snow. Lindsey was hesitant at first, but warmed up to the snow, until we put her on top of the snowman...not so happy!!!

Just a few cute pictures of Lindsey eating a sloppy joe...it was pretty much as big as her face...

Funny Girl!!

Once again I have been the biggest slacker ever!! Of course, I do have my excuses...like we just got a new i-Mac and this is a WHOLE different computer, so I just haven't had the energy or time to sit down and figure out the picture thing on this computer. And of course, it was easy!!! And I feel like I have been working so much lately...I can hardly wait to go part time. Hopefully, in the spring sometime. I love what I do, but what a difference going from 2 to 3 days is!!

Lindsey has been really funny lately!! We will tell her to smile and this is the smile that we get. It really does make me laugh. She is saying all sorts of words and sounds. Yesterday, I got her to start saying "please" and it was a whole facial expression. She couldn't say it without closing her eyes and smiling. Too funny!! We had her 18 month check-up last week and here are her stats:
Weight: 21lbs. 7ounces (10th percentile-we are moving up!!)
Height: 32 1/2 inches (75th percentile-still the same)

I swear I cannot believe that my little girl is already 18 months old!! She is starting to look like such a little girl. I love it, but at the same time it makes me sad to think she is growing up soo fast!! Of course, I have been meaning to post for awhile now so a few of these pictures were to show of her smile, but also her sad wardrobe of "too big" clothes. I went to Old Navy and spent way to much money on clothes that she is just going to have to grow into. I ended up having to go and buy more jeans, because I just couldn't let her wear the other ones that are so humongous!!!

This is Lindsey and her good buddy Shyler. Shyler's mom watches Lindsey while I work. I am so glad that Lindsey has a friend her age to play with. They have their moments, but overall are good buddies!!

Hooray!!

Things are looking up---Russ got a job!! He started his new job a week ago and he is really excited, because he can be out in the field doing what he loves to do without the traveling!! He is only going to be working about 20mins. from our home-much better than the 45min. drive to the Tech. Center!! We had a feeling that Russ would get a job once I committed to working full-time, so I am stuck for a few months!! Oh well, things could be worse. I am going to do my best to go part-time around the new year, we will see what happens. I am so grateful, that a few of my friends are willing to watch Lindsey for me!! I love not having to worry about Lindsey while I am at work. She is in GREAT hands!!

Here are a few pictures from the last month or so...we went to Boulder one morning to enjoy the beautiful weather and mountains, before it starts to get cold. We only had enough time to walk Pearl Street and go to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch and even then, Nick was falling asleep on Katie's arm! Later that day, I watched the twins while Katie worked at home. We ended up playing in the sandbox and then they were soooo dirty that we just had to get out the hose and have some fun in the water!! The kids loved the water and it was so funny to see 3 little white kids running around my yard in their diapers!! What a fun day!! We love when Alli and Nick come to play!!!

We also made a trip out to Grand Junction to visit Russ' family. We had such a fun time! Here are some pictures of Lindsey riding the 4-wheeler and holding her I guess 2nd or 3rd cousin... Lindsey loved riding the 4-wheeler and she was a little sad that we discovered a few hours before we left to go home!! She is also infatuated with babies and is always wanting to hold them, but she hasn't realized yet that she can't pick them up like she does her own babies!! Kids are soo much fun to watch!! I just love watching her everyday, to see what she will do next!! Today, was taking a glass that I had on the floor and then taking it into the bathroom to get some water out of the toilet!! Yep, that is my daugther!! Pretty gross!!

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.....

The Good: we are having sooo much fun this summer, just playing and playing and playing!! Lindsey is loving the park these days (huge improvement from even a few weeks ago). So she first will get her shoes and have us put them on for her. Then, she will go to the coat closet and get out a pair of our shoes and bring them to us. After that she goes to the door and will says "bye?" It is pretty stinking cute, so she usually wins and she gets to go "bye." I love having this nice weather to be able to go outside and get her out of the house!!! Today we had a "little pool" party with the cousins....

The Bad: I am going to start working next week full-time!! Not my idea of fun, but necessary for our family at this time. Russ has been on a 90 day UN-PAID vacation for the past 2 1/2 months and it doesn't seem like it is going to get better any time soon. So, I decided to be proactive and see if I could go full-time and get some benefits for us, just in case. Plus, I have the best baby sitter for Lindsey at this time. The problem is going to be, if and when, Russ does start working again, what will we do with Lindsey?? That is yet to be decided, but I have faith that it will all work-out.

The Ugly: Lindsey is getting her molars right now-3 are cutting in as we speak!!! And let me tell you that it is UGLY. She is not the happiest baby these days, let's just say she likes to scream more than she ever has. She turns her head, clenches her fists, and puts out her tongue as she screams and squels!! Pray that we will get through this oh so trying time!! P.S. the pictures from above are decieving....she really isn't this happy unless she is outside!!

Island Park

This past week we went up to my Aunt and Uncle's Cabin in Island Park, Idaho. We went with the whole family-even my brother David and his wife Natalie joined us for a few days!! We had a great time and unfortunately I was not the best photographer and did not take hardly any pictures. So, here are a few from up on top of Sawtelle Mountain. It was so beautiful, you could see everything from up there!! The rest of the week we: attempted Yellowstone and failed the first time, it took us 1 1/2 hrs. to go basically no-where, so we turned around and went back on Friday. We played Canasta, watched minnows off of the dock, canoed down Henry's Fork of the Snake River, took lots of walks and swung on the swings, and RELAXED even with 3 kids running around!! It was a great trip and we hope to go back in a few years!!

Awesome Websites!!!

So several women in our ward have started some blogs and websites that are really neat. My friend Natalie started this one with some of her friends and it has modest clothing all in one spot from tons of different stores!! She puts outfits together that are cute and she has found so many cute dresses for Sunday that are modest!! So if you click here you can check it out-the website is called Sensibly Styled!!!

The other blog that I want to mention is from my friend Valerie-she has found amazing things to do with toddlers to keep them busy and learning!! Her blog is called Toddler Boredom Busters and you can check it out by clicking here!!

Saturday Family Picnic at the Park

We decided that it was definitely time to get the whole family together again (thank you Kim for initiating it!!!) We decided to meet at a park, so that we could enjoy the summer weather and take our time to socialize. We got lucky and it didn't rain-completely amazing!! We had a great time and I tried to be good and finally get some pictures. We really missed Kim and Jake's daughter Ashley and her kids! We will have to get together when you come to visit.
