So Excited!!

A few weeks ago, I was sitting with my Grandma and Uncle at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver waiting for my Grandpa's surgery to finish and my Grandma mentioned that they had an extra week in Kauai, Hawaii that no one would be there for. So, me being me....jumped on the idea in about 2 seconds!! I presented the idea to Russ and he said we could go if I found tickets for $500. Well, I wasn't sure if that was going to happen, but then a few days after Christmas I found them and so YES, we are going to Hawaii for a little over a week in February!!! I have always wanted to go and can hardly wait to be in the warm weather instead of this cold, windy, yucky weather!!! A little bit of a late Christmas present for us...and much to my sister's discretion we are taking Lindsey. I couldn't stand the thought of leaving her for 9 days!! I sure hope that we still have some fun!!

Christmas 2008

We are finally back home, settled and ready for the New Year!! It was so nice to sit and relax today a little bit and not have to think about Christmas presents and all of the craziness that goes along with Christmas!! We had a wonderful time at Russ's parent's house in Grand Junction, CO. We spent 5 days with them and enjoyed all of the relaxation!! We were so spoiled again this year-I must say that I pretty much got what I asked for: a vacuum, a blender and a Cricut!! I know that I am weird in asking for a vacuum and blender, but I hate buying these things, so why not get them as presents. The Cricut I did not expect, but am SUPER excited about trying it out. Here are a few pictures of the Lindsey from Christmas Eve and from my parent's house this past Sunday.

Setting up the Christmas Tree

On Friday, Russ and I set up the Christmas tree. Lindsey was actually taking a good nap during the whole process, so when she woke up her little world had changed a bit. At first she was a little shocked and scared about tree, but now she likes to look at it and see all of the different ornaments. I forgot my camera on Thanksgiving, so I have no pictures from the holiday, oh well. I will try and do better next year.

A couple of weeks ago, Russ's brother Trevor and his wife Brittany came out to visit us. We had a fun weekend, just bumming around town. We were glad to have them come and visit us!! I thought this was a cute picture of Lindsey and Brittany.

Oh the joys of being a Mom...

Today was one of those days when you are not sure if you could really handle any more children. Lindsey has been teething for the past week...I thought that once the teeth cut through, that they should be less cranky. However, I now believe this to not be true. Today, Lindsey was absolutely the most cranky she has ever been!! It started out by getting a call from Katie to come and get her, because she had refused to drink from a bottle all morning, it was now 12:00 in the afternoon. Thinking she would be starving, I fed her right away...well, that lasted about 2 minutes and she wanted nothing more. I took her home and for the rest of the afternoon, she was 100% NOT content. I tried everything and nothing helped this poor child and on top of that she kept refusing to nurse!!! What is a mom to do?? So, is this normal for babies to still be cranky even though their teeth are already cut?? Any hints on getting a baby to eat-she refuses to nurse and take a bottle, not too many options left!!!
