We had Christmas in two parts this year. The first part was the weekend before Christmas when Russ' parent's came out to visit and bring "Christmas" to us! We had a great weekend with them. Russ and his dad worked on our basement (thank you sooo much for all your help). Shalia and I ran errands with the girls and just enjoyed one another's company. We took the girls to see Santa at our ward Christmas party (Santa was before the actual party, so we just went to see Santa and then left). Lindsey talked about seeing Santa the whole way there and was super excited to see him and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Well, when we got there, it was a WHOLE different story. She was scared to death of that old man. We eventually got her to go up with Grandma and she barely told him what she wanted....baby dolls. Then, we came home and opened up the Christmas presents. We were all spoiled! :) Thank you Grandma & Grandpa Moses!
(I know my mother in law is really going to thank me fore posting this picture, but Lindsey took it and I thought it was cute. I even posted one of myself & Taylor that Lindsey took).
Then, on the actual Christmas weekend, we went with my family up to my Grandparent's home in Berthoud. We were so sad that my grandparent's weren't there to enjoy the craziness with us, we sure did miss them! It wasn't quite the same. We spent Christmas Eve, Christmas day and most of Sunday at the house, just hanging out and having a great time. I really enjoyed being able to be together as a family.
We had a wonderful Italian meal on Christmas Eve-this is a Kershaw tradition (my mom's parent's started this tradition and it stuck!) Lindsey was so funny, she saw that we had "special" glasses for our sparkling cider and she insisted on having one too. My mom found a mini one that was just her size and she was cracking us all up with how she would hold the glass and drink from it.
Another tradition we have is that the grandkids get to open up two presents. My mom gets them Christmas pj's, a book and an ornament. Here is Lindsey holding up her book.
Taylor and Makenna having a ball being naked!!
Lindsey opened up her present from Santa first and he brought her exactly what she wanted...a new baby doll! She does love this baby so much. (Or at least that is what I keep telling myself).
This is Lindsey and I on Christmas morning-looking so beautiful. Not quite as beautiful as the homeless person next to us....oh wait that is my brother!!!
We had lots of good food and snacks! Lindsey helping my parent's make 7-Layer Dip. Yumm!
And we can't forget about the little bit of R&R that we all got. I love this picture of my dad playing with the girls. I found my dad like this a lot-I love that he loves his grandkids!
